The sins of the father...

Zoomers (members of Gen Z, for the unaware) are going through a painful process. One by one, they're realizing that while their fathers and grandfathers were great men on many levels, they failed to preserve the West they inherited. Some may be tempted to point out edge cases, but there's no denying the trend of the last century. Our fathers inherited a truly great civilization that honored Christ, punished evil, cultivated virtue... but ultimately preserved none of these.

This is not meant as an insult to those men, even those who accelerated our decline. We can forgive them, but we must not defend or deny their failure. We have all failed in some way or another, but the wise do not fail in the same way twice. Zoomers will not fail in the same way their fathers did.

The failures in question

This could be the subject of an hours-long discussion, but I will summarize what "failures" I mean briefly. Over the course of the last several decades (although the trends are centuries old), the West has suffered an identity crisis. It cast off Christ to become secular in the name of "religious freedom," and in so doing it no longer could make sense of itself. It cast off its own founding myths (as each nation has) in favor of the postwar consensus. It cast off an acknowledgement of human nature itself, especially along the lines of race and sex. All of these concessions were made with relatively little resistance, and this is the failure I speak about. Each of these must be utterly disgusting to the Western man, but they were not to our fathers, or they pursed their lips thinking it was just a matter of preference. "Live and let live." Among relatively similar people this may work well enough, but it is a miserable gardener who adopts this philosophy about weeds... and these are weedy philosophies.

Why zoomers?

The more young men I talk to, the more sure I am that they're really prepared to do what's necessary. They're open to reconsidering what WWII meant, they're not shy about natural differences between races or sexes, and they're most certainly not interested in any pathetic attempt to hush them up about a forbidden subject. We were born into this hellscape of censorship that was built on our father's watch, while they didn't notice or care. Again, we will still honor our fathers, most of all by refusing to be likewise disinterested.

Finally, and most importantly, it will be zoomers that save the West because it has to be. There isn't another out, we can't wait another 20 years and see how generation alpha does. At the current rate of decline, the West will completely unrecognizable. We are in "now or never" territory for going back, and there's very specific reasons why. That's the subject of another article, perhaps next week's.
